Project BAG Prevention in Healthcare
Prevention in health care (PGV) is one of the three main measures of the NCD Strategy 2017–2024.
The central goal of PGV is to increase the quality of life and autonomy of patients and to reduce their need for treatment. People who are already sick or show an increased risk of illness should be supported across the entire supply chain through health promotion offers.
The Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) issues a mandate to analyze the financing situation of preventive services in the health system.
In order to show how various preventive services have been financed so far, an overview of the current financing of evidence-based preventive services should be provided. In addition, gaps and ambiguities in the financing of preventive services are to be identified in order to propose optimized future financing solutions.
